This essay focuses on A criminal case .verdict, sentencing and the controversy surrounding same. I will work through each of the items above in detail while providing facts and about the case and siting examples. By use of the Complaint and various other documents filed by the prosecutor and defendant’s attorney. I will also discuss Mr. Turner’s appeal process and the outcome.
This is the case to be discussed and questions that need to be answered. The first paragraph below can be rewrote it was just the topic. Paper must show understanding of the criminals justice system and process (you can see examples of what to discuss in my paragraph below). The case that I have selected to discuss is The People of the State of California v. Brock Allen Turner (2015). A criminal case in which the Defendant, Brook Turner was convict by a Jury of three counts of felony assault.
Do you believe the verdict would have been different if these forms of technology had not been use. How did social media portray and/or affect the case? What was the nature of the trial? How long was it? How many jurors were there? What was the verdict? If applicable: Do you agree or disagree with the sentencing? Why/why not?.
There are two main differences between a felony and misdemeanor offense. The first is that felony crimes are generally more serious than crimes that are consider to be misdemeanors. Felonies also tend to involve an act of violence.
The second difference between the two is the form of punishment that a convict person can receive.
