Objective The term paper for Psychology 280 will be a literature review of a current topic in biological psychology. This paper is intend to provide you with an opportunity to more fully explore a research area that is currently producing a lot of interest in the field. It will also allow you to gain some exposure to the empirical literature in biological psychology and some practice in identifying and summarizing appropriate research articles.

Instructions For your term paper, you can choose to write on one of the three options listed below: What evidence supports the claim that sexual orientation is the product of biological factors? Give an account of the neurobiological cause of a common eating disorder (e.g., anorexia nervosa, bulimia, obesity).

Your job is to review the literature regarding your chosen topic and clearly and concisely summarize that knowledge. Your review should include: An introduction that focuses and establishes the importance of the topic.

A summary of the current state of knowledge in the field. You may want to talk about major discoveries that have progressed the field or controversial research findings. Your paper should be 4 pages (i.e., approximately 1000 words, double-spaced, excluding references). You should reference a minimum of 3 primary research papers, but feel free to use more (empirical papers; no review papers or articles from news sources).
