This exercise is to expose you to the beginning
how primary sources contain information that is vital to the work of historians. Historians create scholarship largely based off the contents of primary sources since they show historians valuable insights of the past.
For this assignment, you will read the first chapter of the course textbook then read this selected primary source from the course textbook. You may also consider viewing the recorded lecture by the instructor upon the chapter content.
