Research Paper You have three options to pick when it comes to writing your research paper. Topic 1: Choose one topic that we talk about on the syllabus, and write a detailed research paper on a specific aspect of that subject and how it relates to American government.

You must properly cite all of your sources using a bibliography as well as either in-text citations or footnotes. You can use MLA, APA, or Chicago-Style source formatting. DO NOT USE WIKIPEDIA!!! The work MUST be type in Times New Roman, font size 12, and double-space. You must include your name, the course title, and the date. If, for some reason, you are unable to type your work, borrow someone else’s computer and type it there.

You can also use a typewriter, and in extreme circumstances, you can submit a hand-written copy. Just make sure that it’s hand in ON TIME! Late submission of your first draft will be penalized just like late submission of any other assignment, with one letter grade deduct from your score for each day that it’s late. If you wish to submit your essay early, that’s fine. If you want to submit a first draft of your essay to me, I will be very happy to read it and give you advice and suggestions on it so that you can turn in a better product by the due date. Be sure to get started on it as quickly as you can. This project will take considerable time to research and write. Don’t leave it for the last minute. The faster you get working on this, the better.
