Chapter 14: Classroom Assessment Strategies Chapter 15: Summarizing Achievement and Abilities Assignment: This week’s assignment is Part Two of the four part project. As a reminder, for this project you create, design, complete, and assess your own Summative Project for this course. Part two of this project, you practice developing a learning assessment tool for your summative project as well as specifying the details of your project. Read chapters 14 & 15 from this week’s required readings. Determine the specifics or directions for your project.Remember – your Summative Project must achieve (or fulfill) your personal outcome which you created last week.
“Understand the role of computers in Kindergarten classrooms” you would design a Summative Project aimed at educating yourself about computers in Kindergarten classrooms. By design – I mean determine the your project details such as how many pages (essay), slides (PowerPoint presentation), or minutes (video presentation), etc., should your project be? How many academic resources (i.e., references) are needed? HINT: This is the final project so it should be more academically rigorous (i.e., more advanced and larger) than your weekly ALA assignments which have been 2-3 pages/5-6 slides and required only two resources – one of which has generally been an outside source (that is, not included in course required readings). Your summative project must exceed the ALA requirements. Determine the standard by which your project should be evaluated. For this, you will need to create your own grading rubric as appropriate to your assignment.
(one area must be use of scholarly references, in-text citations and APA style). Review rubrics for assignments in this course as examples. It may also be helpful to review your text’s discussion on evaluating with rubrics (chapter 14). Compile this information into a two page (double-spaced) document: Page one should include the specifics of your project with all appropriate details. HINT: Imagine you are the instructor giving this assignment to a student. What information would they need to complete this project and achieve your outcome as you have designed it? . As you have not yet completed the project – the rubric is ungraded. You will resubmit your rubric with your grade assessment as part of your final project. Instructions: Develop specific details of your Summative Final Project and create an appropriate grading rubric. This should only be two pages double spaced.
