A Gantt chart, commonly use in project management, is one of the most popular and useful ways of showing activities (tasks or events) display against time.

On the left of the chart is a list of the activities and along the top is a suitable time scale.

Firstly, Each activity is represent by a bar;

Secondly, the position and length of the bar reflects the start date,

Thirdly, duration and end date of the activity.

This allows you to see at a glance:

The vertical axis  shows the tasks that need to be complete, while the horizontal axis represents time.

Moreover, As you input tasks,

Further, their start dates,

Lastly, their end dates and their dependencies,

Finally, bars will populate, which represent task durations.

This happens automatically if you use a  planning tool like  software.

Most Gantt diagrams are created in Excel or with project management software, which is sometimes refer to as Gantt chart software.

then you’ll be able to do more than see task durations and due dates.

You can create a work breakdown structure,

assign tasks to team members,

track progress in real time

and drag and drop timelines to instantly update your project schedule.
