Insight Talent Cluster Goal Students will use their insight, empathy, and communication skills to determine how people’s needs motivate their actions that impact the community. This goal models how to integrate the cross-domain aptitude of insight with two domain-specific humanities aptitudes, empathy and communication.
Aptitude Your talent goal and corresponding performance of understanding focus on developing insight in the context of mastering specific knowledge and skills. You can assess evidence of insight using the developmental Talent Aptitude Learning Progressions (teacher and student versions) to compose rubrics (see Figure 4.7). The assessment process is described in detail in Chapter 7. In addition to the aptitude rubrics, you’ll develop your own formative assessments for evidence as to whether students have mastered the specific knowledge and skills in the content standard and learning objective.
