While airports have tried their best to co-exist with those immediately around them, mandating noise abatement procedures, aircraft modifications to reduce noise, land encroachment abatement policies, and carefully selecting where to place new airports (such as the last new major airport to be built in the U.S, Denver International), there are always those in the public that have the “not in my back yard” approach to airports and the issues they potentially create.     Instructions For this assignment we will focus on the most common complaint about airports, namely the noise they create.

A subsequent assignment will deal with the environmental aspect of airports. For your paper, answer the following questions: What is the issue of noise at airports? Describe some real world examples of airport noise issues between airports and the general public.  What steps have airports done to try and reduce the number and types of complaints that airports tend to generate with regards to noise?   What have been the public’s demand to airport noise? Do the public have legitimate concerns, or is airport noise just a consequence of a modern society? What are your thoughts on airports and noise?

Write a research paper in APA format answering the above questions.

The research paper must adhere to the following guidelines: No less than 2 pages. Basic format: Double-space, 1” margins, Times New Roman, font size of 12 Title page, illustrations, and reference page do not count towards minimum length. You must include at least 3 cited and reference using APA style formatting. .
