This essay focuses on The point value in workshopping. Drafts are not graded so there is no point value but you must submit
a writing question and need guidance to help me understand better.
1) DUE DATES:
Part 1: The draft for Paper 2 is due by Tues 5/18 midnight (must be 4 pages minimum). Drafts are not graded so there is no point value but you must submit a draft before you can submit a revision for a grade).
Part 2: The point value in workshopping is in the Peer Review. Complete and post two peer reviews by Thurs 5/20 midnight. Peer Review of major essays is graded on the quality of the feedback, so give detailed feedback and don’t leave any sections of the review blank–peer review is 5% of your overall course grade (100 points possible per peer review based on the academic grading scale: 98-100=A+, 93-97=A, 90-92=A- 87-89=B+, 83-86=B, 80-82=B-, 77-79=C+, 70-76=C, 67-69=D+, 63-66=D, 60-62=D-, 59-0=F).
to help strengthen the essays which will be turned in for a grade on Tues 5/25.(3) READ FIRST: In Rhetoric, read Chapter 4: Drafting (Links to an external site.) ( 139-142), Chapter 5: MLA Conventions (Links to an external site.) (pages 170-183), Chapter 6: Evaluating Writing (Links to an external site.) (pages 184-199), and Chapter 8: Introductions & Conclusions (pages 228-242).
(4) ASSIGNMENT IN TWO PARTS:
PART 1 by 5/18: Post your 4-6 page draft of Paper 4 as an attachment–it must be an attached file so it doesn’t lose the formatting. Your document must be in .doc, .rtf or .pdf format–I can’t give you credit and you cannot participate in the workshop if the document can’t be opened.
PART 2 by 5/20: Complete the attached Review for the two peers of your choosing. Be as thorough and detailed as possible and leave no sections blank (if you have no revision advice in a section, then tell them what they did well–balance criticism with praise). Peer Review is graded based on the quality and thoroughness of the feedback and counts as 5% of your overall course grade.
